Supta Padangustasana is a yoga exercise that is performed in a prone position on the floor with the legs raised. This name also comes from Sanskrit. Supta means to lie down, patha means foot. Angustha means big toe and asana means yoga pose.

One knee is brought to the chest and the big toe is grasped with the thumb and first finger of the corresponding hand. Then stretch one leg of the side towards the sky. Method of practice

Lie on your back and stretch both legs out straight with your knees firmly on the floor.

Take a deep breath and lift your right leg into the air. You can try to stretch your legs as far as possible. However, avoid overextending them.

The other leg (left leg) rests relaxed on the floor. Place your left hand on your left thigh.

Now lift your right arm up and try to grasp your right toe. Hold this position for three breaths.

Exhale and slowly lift your head and upper body off the floor, bend your right arm at the elbow and pull your right leg towards your head without bending your knee.

Place your chin on your right knee and try to hold this position for about 20 seconds. Keep the other leg straight on the floor and breathe normally.

Take a deep breath and slowly bring your head and right leg to the floor.

Then grasp your right thumb again with your right hand and move it towards your right shoulder.

Exhale and stretch both legs out straight, place your hands on your thighs and return to the starting position.
